Our Curriculum

Nurturing Growth & Development

At Grow Happy Childcare, our preschool and wrap-around care are thoughtfully designed to support every child’s unique learning journey. We believe that children thrive when they’re encouraged to grow at their own pace, so our planning is responsive and tailored to each individual’s strengths, interests, and needs.

Through regular observations and reflective planning, we build a personalised framework that nurtures development in a warm and engaging environment. Our curriculum is carefully aligned with nationally recognised early years learning goals, helping children develop the confidence, independence, and readiness they need as they approach the transition to school.

We keep detailed records of each child’s progress and achievements, which not only celebrate their successes but also support strong partnerships with local primary schools. This collaborative approach ensures a smooth and positive move into the next stage of their education.

Our curriculum places particular focus on the following key areas of development:

Subjects

Personal, Social, and Emotional Development:

We foster a positive sense of self and respect for others, helping children build relationships, develop social skills, manage their emotions, and gain confidence in their abilities.

Communication and Language Development:

Our rich language environment encourages children to express themselves confidently and effectively, both verbally and non-verbally, in various situations.

Physical Development:

We provide ample opportunities for children to be active and develop their coordination, control, and movement skills. Emphasis is placed on the importance of physical activity and making healthy choices.

Literacy:

Through exposure to a wide range of reading materials, we ignite children's interest in reading and writing, encouraging them to make connections between sounds and letters and to begin their literacy journey.

Mathematics:

Children engage in activities that develop their counting, number understanding, and

problem-solving skills, as well as their ability to describe shapes, spaces, and measures.

Understanding the World:

We guide children to explore and understand their physical environment and community, fostering curiosity about people, places, technology, and the natural world.

Expressive Arts and Design:

Children are encouraged to explore various media and materials, expressing their thoughts, ideas, and feelings through art, music, movement, role play, and design activities.

Key Person

Each child is assigned a key worker, who acts as the child’s main carer and has responsibility for a small group of children, to help them feel safe and secure.

The key person will get to know your child in order to ensure their full potential is reached.
